Today is Wednesday July 19th, and I'm Brian GiffinSaul Sanchez-Gomez, a 25-year-old man from Woodstock, has been formally charged by a Cherokee County grand jury for attempting an armed robbery at a pizzeria in 2020. He was indicted on one count of criminal attempt to commit armed robbery and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The indictment alleges that Sanchez-Gomez entered a Little Ceasars in Woodstock, brandished a handgun, and demanded money from an employee. The incident occurred on July 16, 2020, and Sanchez-Gomez was arrested on April 19. He is currently in custody at the Cherokee County jail without bond. A court hearing is scheduled for August 4. It's important to note that an indictment is not a conviction, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
