Cherokee County fire investigators are requesting assistance in an ongoing investigation involving a stolen car that was later discovered ablaze on Interstate 575. The incident began when a black 2018 Mercedes GLE35 was reported stolen in Marietta on June 12. The SUV was subsequently found on fire on Interstate 575 northbound in Cherokee County, near Howell Bridge Road in Ball Ground. Firefighters responded to the scene and extinguished the flames, but no individuals were present. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services fire investigators at 678-493-4197.
