Suspect in murder at Norcross-area wings restaurant arrested in Cobb County

Xavier Jones, a Norcross man, has been arrested by Gwinnett County police in connection with the fatal shooting of Jerrett Mitchell at a wings restaurant in April. Jones was apprehended in Cobb County on unrelated charges. He now faces multiple charges, including felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes. The incident occurred on April 28 at Discover Wings in unincorporated Norcross, where Mitchell was shot and died at the scene. Another individual sustained non-life threatening injuries in the shooting. Initially, police were seeking two suspects related to the incident.
