A tragic murder-suicide occurred at the Hiram, Georgia Walmart on Wednesday night around 7:30 pm. James Wyatt Nicholas Norton, 26, from Hiram, fatally shot Zoey Nicole Mitchell, 20, from Dallas, before taking his own life inside the store. Police Chief Mike Turner clarified it wasn't an active shooter incident but a situation involving individuals who likely had a prior relationship. Both victims succumbed to gunshot wounds at the hospital. Norton, identified as a Walmart employee by Fox 5, committed the act near the store's entrance, prompting an evacuation and causing panic among shoppers. Walmart is temporarily closed for the police investigation, with further details forthcoming after evidence review and witness interviews.
