Story 1. missing
Fourteen-year-old Ashley Bell, a student at Parkview High School, has been reported missing since May 24. The Gwinnett County Police Department has taken over the case and is seeking the public's help in locating her. Bell is believed to be endangered, and her last known location was in the parking lot of Parkview High. Her cell phone was turned off a few hours later, and there has been no activity on her social media accounts. She does not have access to money or a car. Gwinnett police described Bell as a Black female with curly black hair and brown eyes, approximately 5-foot-3 inches tall and weighing 145 pounds. Detectives are actively investigating the case, and anyone with information is urged to contact GCPD detectives or Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta. See pictures of Ashley and read more on this story at gwinnettdailypost.com.
STORY 2: found
Good news: Shawn Wright Tanner, a 16-year-old who had been missing since last week, has been found and is safe. Gwinnett County police confirmed that Tanner was located and returned home to his relieved family. The search for the teenager lasted for more than a day after he was last seen at his residence on Park Knoll Trail in Lawrenceville . We’ll hope for the same kind of news about Ashley Bell, who we talked about in our first story. Read more about this good news at gwinnettdailypost.com
Story 3:
Gwinnett County recently held a ceremony to recognize women veterans, led by County Commission Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson. The event took place at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in anticipation of Women Veterans Recognition Day on June 12. This marked the first time the county organized such an event to honor women veterans. The occasion coincided with the upcoming 75th anniversary of the Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, which allowed women to serve as regular military members. The ceremony included a brunch, a proclamation presented by Hendrickson, and a keynote speech by Georgia Department of Veteran Services Director Veda Brooks. County Commissioner Jasper Watkins, a retired Army colonel, emphasized the importance of women veterans continuing to serve their communities beyond their military service. The event aimed to acknowledge and celebrate the unique contributions of women veterans and ensure their stories are preserved and cherished…..we’ll be right back

STORY 4: Cameras
The Gwinnett Police Department in Gwinnett County is expanding its use of Flock safety cameras to enhance surveillance on the roadways and assist in criminal investigations. The department already has access to approximately 800 cameras that have been installed throughout the county by various entities. County commissioners recently approved the installation of an additional 97 cameras. These cameras provide real-time information to officers, aiding in locating missing persons, stolen vehicles, and crime suspects. Investigators can also access historical data up to 30 days prior to track vehicles and license plates associated with specific crimes. Gwinnett residents seeking more information about the use of Flock cameras can visit GwinnettSafeCommunities.com.
Story 5: bachelorette
The 20th season of the popular TV series "The Bachelorette" features Charity Lawson, a graduate of Auburn University, as the bachelorette. Among her suitors is Kaleb Kim, a former offensive lineman for Auburn's football team from 2016 to 2019 and a former Gwinnett County player. Kim, now working as a construction salesman, is described as a loyal and caring partner who is passionate about self-improvement and jujitsu. As a fellow Auburn Tiger alum, he may have an advantage with Charity. The new season, hosted by Jesse Palmer, is set to premiere on June 26 on ABC…..we’ll have more in a moment
