STORY 2: ribbon

Bordeau Metals held a christening ceremony for its facility in the Floyd County Industrial Park, accompanied by employees and CEO Brad Bordeau. The company, which processes scrap metal, has been operational for months, despite noise complaints from nearby residents due to the processing of materials from Georgia Power's Plant Hammond. Initially subcontracted to handle these materials, the contract was terminated due to noise concerns, prompting Bordeau to intend to sue Floyd County for contract breach. Bordeau, emphasizing the importance of metal recycling and environmental responsibility, plans to continue operations and expand the workforce. They are also sponsoring the Coosa Valley Fair.

STORY 3: pulled

The Calhoun Police Department is participating in the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign by the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The campaign aims to combat alcohol and drug-impaired driving. Chief Tony Pyle emphasized the importance of community action to prevent injuries and fatalities caused by impaired driving. The campaign involves law enforcement agencies across the state and seeks to reduce incidents of deaths and injuries resulting from drunk and drugged driving. The public is encouraged to support the effort by speaking up to friends and family about the risks of driving under the influence....the stepped up enforcement will continue thru September 4th.
