From the Ingles Studio this is your news minute on the Cherokee Tribune Ledger Podcast presented by Powers Electrical Solutions. Today is Thursday, September 14th and I'm Keith Ippolito.

Dr. James Cross, owner of Cherokee Women’s Health Specialists and a pioneer in women's healthcare in Cherokee County, passed away at 92. He was a leader in Georgia's women's health, known for introducing epidurals during labor and helping establish labor and delivery at Northside Hospital. He opened Cherokee Women’s Health Specialists in 1993 after the closure of R.T. Jones Hospital, even battling cancer while continuing to deliver babies. His presence significantly reduced perinatal morbidity and mortality rates in Cherokee County. Dr. Cross's legacy of compassion and care endures through his colleagues, and he leaves behind a family who survives him.
