James Argo, a resident of Statham, Georgia, has gained popularity with his Oconee Gold barbecue sauces. Argo, who grew up in Gwinnett County, began experimenting with sauce while smoking meat and has been refining his recipes over the years. His Oconee Gold White Gold sauce recently won in the Barbecue Sauce category at the UGA Flavor of Georgia competition. Argo established Oconee Creations LLC to bring his sauces to the market, and they are now available in 82 stores across eight states. Argo plans to continue expanding his business, creating new products, and potentially passing it on as a legacy for his children. Oconee Gold products can be found in Gwinnett County stores or ordered online. Argo is a former football player at Brookwood High School.
