STORY 1: Armuchee Man Charged With Stalking

An Armuchee man was arrested Friday afternoon when police say he violated a restraining order by entering the victim's property on Wynnie Road, reports state. According to Floyd County Jail reports: James Timothy Moore Jr., 46, is charged with felony aggravated stalking. He remained in jail without bond as of Monday morning.

STORY 2: Georgia Economy Headed for 'Soft Landing' in 2024

According to Ben Ayers, the dean of the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, Georgia's economic growth will slow down in 2024, but the state is well-positioned to weather an economic slowdown and is expected to outperform the U.S. economy. Ayers predicts Georgia's Gross Domestic Product to increase by 1.1% in 2024, compared to the 3% growth experienced in 2023. The state's population growth and a record number of economic development projects are key factors supporting Georgia's economy. Ayers expects the state's unemployment rate to rise to 4% in 2024, with inflation decreasing to 2.5% by the end of the year.

STORY 3: Police Seeking Suspect In Sunday Armed Robbery On Shorter Avenue

Rome police responded to an armed robbery at the Latino Food Mart on Shorter Avenue. The cashier reported that a masked Black man entered the store, initially appearing to buy a drink. However, the man revealed a small pistol at the counter, prompting the cashier to raise his hands. The thief stole around $4,500 from the cash register and left the store. Surveillance footage from Red Lobster's vicinity, where the thief was seen coming from and returning, was submitted to the police for investigation.
